Sharon Berman is a member of Sutherland’s Financial Services Practice Group, where she advises investment advisers and broker-dealers on regulatory and compliance issues in the retail, institutional and retirement markets. She works with firms in establishing and developing marketing programs, distributing investment products, and implementing and reviewing compliance manuals and procedures as well as providing guidance on operational and reporting requirements. Sharon also has extensive experience in advising clients in public and private securities offerings, the formation and operation of private investment funds, and general corporate transactions.

Prior to joining the firm, Sharon served as General Counsel of an Atlanta-based investment adviser, broker-dealer and hedge fund manager overseeing all legal aspects of the firm’s investment management business. She also served as counsel to SEI Investments, providing regulatory advice to SEI’s registered investment adviser, affiliated portfolio managers and compliance officers. Sharon also advised SEI in the design and formation of its proprietary alternative investment vehicles.
