Sandra Safro is a member of Sutherland’s Energy and Environmental Practice Group. She practices in a broad range of energy-related areas, focusing on issues related to natural gas, oil, and liquefied natural gas (LNG). Sandra represents clients in natural gas pipeline rate proceedings at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and regularly advises clients on administrative proceedings at FERC.

Sandra is a member of Sutherland’s Climate Change Team, working with clients to identify and capitalize on opportunities and respond to business challenges impacted by climate change policies and regulations. Sandra also has worked closely with partners on the LNG Team to advise clients on existing and proposed federal and state laws related to LNG, and on issues surrounding the siting of LNG terminals.

Sandra regularly contributes to the Offshore Energy Law Blog, a leading industry source focusing on issues at the intersection of offshore energy and federal policy, regulation and politics.

Before joining the firm, Sandra served as a summer associate in Sutherland’s Washington, D.C., office. She worked as a judicial intern for the U.S. Court of Federal Claims for the Honorable Loren A. Smith and the District of Columbia Superior Court for the Honorable John H. Bayly, Jr. Sandra also worked as a research assistant for Professor Marshall Breger at the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
