"FERC Rejects Gas Technology Institute's Plea for Extension of Industry-Sanctioned Research"

Dena Wiggins, a partner in the Washington office and General Counsel for the Process Gas Consumers Group, applauded the recent action by FERC to reject an application by the Gas Technology Institute for advance approval of a research, development and demonstration program that would include a pipeline rate surcharge for 2005.  Dena states that the continuation of the surcharge "was a violation of the Commission-approved settlement," and would deprive PGC and other parties from a critical benefit from a 1998 bargain with GTI.
