ATLANTA (Wednesday, December 12, 2012) – In an effort to promote parental involvement in children’s education and support Atlanta families in need, this week Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP donated $50,000 to Families First. The donation was the result of a pledge made in September by Sutherland’s philanthropic group, Sutherland Women Stepping Up®.

“Earlier this year, we looked for a nonprofit organization to support through fundraising and volunteer efforts,” said Sutherland Partner Jennifer W. Fletcher. “We were drawn to Families First’s education program and early intervention for at-risk children in our community. We are honored to be able to play a part in the quality services that this organization provides to the Atlanta community.”

Sutherland Women Stepping Up® is one of the firm’s philanthropic arms organized by a group of professional women who are dedicated to empowering women’s social and financial independence through impactful philanthropy. The partnership with Families First is the first of its kind for the group and will continue throughout 2013.
