May 1-5, 2004
Hyatt Regency Atlanta & Atlanta Marriott Marquis - Atlanta, GA
The single most important event on every trademark professional's calendar is INTA's Annual Meeting, which is held in a different location each year. The 2004 meeting was held in Atlanta, and Sutherland is proud to have been involved. This meeting attracts over 6,000 participants from all over the world for five days of educational presentations, committee meetings, exhibits, social events and other networking opportunities.
Charlie Lester lead a small group discussion, "Making Time for Pro Bono," and Jim Johnson lead a session entitled "Ethical Considerations in U.S. Trademark Practice" on Monday, May 3. This Intermediate Level session focused on ethical dilemmas faced by trademark practitioners every day, including conflicts of interest in searching and litigating marks, ethical walls, attorney-client privilege and issues arising from the use of agents.
In conjunction with the annual meeting, Sutherland hosted a brunch for clients and friends at the Capital City Club.
