A member of Sutherland’s Energy and Environmental Practice Group, Mike Bradley’s governmental and private sector energy practice spans more than 25 years and includes lead responsibility for a wide variety of significant regulatory and commercial matters. His clients have included public utility regulatory bodies, unregulated affiliates of regulated utilities, independent power producers and other generators developing, financing and operating power projects. Mike served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia  from 1982 to 1985, and operated under appointment as a Special Assistant Attorney General from 1987 to 1991 after joining the private sector in 1985. 

Mike joined Sutherland in July 2000, and he moved in-house to Calpine Corporation in 2004, serving as a Senior Vice President of Calpine Corporation and as President of NewSouth Energy LLC. At NewSouth, Mike oversaw the political, regulatory and commercial interests of Calpine’s southeastern fleet of approximately 7,000 MWs of generating facilities covering all or portions of nine Southeastern states. Commercial efforts included responding to numerous RFPs for power supply and crafting other commercial proposals to optimize the financial performance of Calpine’s Southeastern fleet. In early 2006, as part of Calpine’s bankruptcy reorganization effort, Mike served as Senior Vice President of Asset Evaluation. He rejoined Sutherland at the end of 2006.
