- Serving as counsel in regulatory and commercial matters for power project development initiatives including:
- Counsel to 300 MW QF in Georgia (regulatory and commercial matters) (COD 1998).
- Counsel to 936 MW simple cycle EWG in Georgia (regulatory and commercial matters) (COD 2000).
- Counsel to two 800 MW combined cycle EWGs in Alabama (regulatory and commercial matters) (CODs 2001 and 2002).
- Counsel to 885 MW combined cycle EWG in Virginia (regulatory and commercial matters) (COD 2002).
- Counsel to 300 MW simple cycle EWG in Nevada (electric interconnection and federal/state regulatory issues) (COD 2001).
- Counsel to 525 MW combined cycle project in Georgia (regulatory and commercial matters) (under development).
- Counsel to two 500 MW simple cycle projects in Florida (commercial issues in the sale of original developer’s interest) (CODs 2001 and 2002).
- Counsel to one 1,200 MW combined cycle EWG (COD in 2002) and one 640 MW simple cycle EWG (COD 2002) in Georgia (select regulatory issues and commercial matters).
- Counsel to multiple biomass projects for development of a patented animal waste gasification technology (projects for siting in Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Arkansas).
- Negotiating and memorializing operations and maintenance transactions on behalf of one of the largest combined heat and power services vendors in the U.S. market.
- Serving as lead counsel on behalf of a regulatory body in more than a dozen major gas and electric rate case proceedings (both rate level and rate design), including responsibility for the design and implementation of a five-year phase-in plan successfully phasing into rates a public utility’s $8.6 billion investment in a nuclear facility.
- Representing independent power producers in state regulatory proceedings, including the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act, avoided cost litigation, integrated resource planning proceedings, and various competitive bidding procedures overseen by regulatory bodies.
- Leading or otherwise participating in due diligence reviews in connection with the sale or acquisition of energy assets, including combined heat and power facilities.
- Serving as legal counsel to a water public service corporation formed and operated to provide raw water supply and transportation to two power projects and two public water supply governmental subdivisions.
