Lisa Combs Jern is a member of Sutherland’s Litigation Practice Group and chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment Team. She has extensive experience representing employers, from Fortune 100 companies to venture capital start-ups, in a wide variety of industries including energy, telecommunications, securities, technology, multi-media, retail, textile, banking and transportation.

Lisa’s practice is national in scope. She represents clients in the United States and abroad and has tried cases in federal and state courts from California to Virginia. She has experience in negotiating complex, multi-party settlements and in handling high-profile public relations media issues.

Before joining the firm, Lisa served as a law clerk for the Honorable Thomas A. Clark of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Lisa has handled a full range of employment law claims as lead counsel in numerous trials and other forums, addressing issues such as:
