Lei Fang, a member of Sutherland’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, focuses on patent prosecution and counseling in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences. Before joining Sutherland, Lei had worked as a patent agent at other law firms since 1999. She also worked as a senior research associate at a biotechnology and pharmaceutical company and as a postdoctoral research fellow and a graduate research associate in academia. Lei was a qualified medical doctor in China before pursuing a Ph.D. in pharmacology and toxicology in the United States. She is active in numerous Asian-American organizations and serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Georgia-China Alliance and as a legal counsel for several Chinese not-for-profit organizations.

Lei is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
