George practices primarily in the area of corporate and securities law and has extensive experience in advising publicly-held corporations on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and other matters.

George served as Chair of the State Bar of Georgia’s Section of Corporate and Banking Law from 1968-1969.  He was a member of the Section’s committee that prepared the Georgia Business Corporation Code enacted in 1969 and was Chair of the Section’s committee that prepared the Revised Georgia Business Corporation Code enacted in 1989.  During 1983-1989, George was a member of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section’s Corporate Laws Committee that prepared the Revised Model Business Corporation Act.  During 1981-1992, he served as an Adviser on the American Law Institute project, "Principles of Corporate Governance:  Analysis and Recommendations."  George is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in the category of Corporate Law and in Atlanta Magazine’s 2006 Georgia Super Lawyers.

Prior to attending law school, George served as a Lieutenant with the U.S. Air Force during 1951-1953.
