Felicia is a member of the Litigation Practice Group.  Her practice focuses on complex commercial matters involving energy, employment, business tort and product liability issues.  She has represented local, national and international companies in a variety of disputes and has tried cases in federal and state courts and before the American Arbitration Association.  Representative cases include:

  • Obtaining a declaratory judgment for an engineering services company against a $10 million claim arising out of failed negotiations for a proposed joint venture;
  • Successfully assisting a Hong Kong-based company recover payment from the general contractor on a governmental project based in China;
  • Successfully defending employers against discrimination claims arising under Texas and American employment laws and alleged violations of Saudi Labor Law;
  • Assisting an oil and gas exploration company negotiate and enforce permit rights in connection with 3D seismic projects in Texas;
  • Obtaining summary judgment on fraud claims in a construction dispute;
  • Advising a Houston-based company on aspects of Texas law that were anticipated to impact negotiations for a natural gas project in Yemen; and
  • Representing and advising parties in matters related to confidentiality agreements, non-compete agreements, and the protection of trade secrets.

As a part of her pro bono practice, Felicia successfully defended a family-owned business against claims of misappropriation of trade secrets and conspiracy.  Additionally, she aggressively prosecuted an appeal for a mother who lost custody of her daughter in a default divorce proceeding.  Felicia’s efforts resulted in a published opinion, Ratisseau v. Ratisseau, 44 S.W.3d 695 (Tex. App. – Houston [14th Dist.] 2001, pet. dism'd by agr.) which clarified proof standards in default divorce proceedings.

Before joining the firm, Felicia maintained a diverse litigation practice at a premier defense litigation boutique in Houston, Texas.  Prior to that, she served as briefing attorney to Chief Justice John Hill Cayce, Jr. at the Court of Appeals for the Second District of Texas in Fort Worth, Texas.

Felicia received her J.D., summa cum laude and ranked No. 1 in her class, from South Texas College of Law, where she served as an articles editor for the South Texas Law Review and was voted Outstanding Female Graduate by her peers.  She received her B.A., cum laude, in journalism from Texas A&M University.

Felicia is a member of the American Bar Association; the State Bar of Texas, where she previously served on the Judiciary Relations Committee; the Houston Bar Association, where she was previously on the Professionalism Committee, and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel.

In addition to her professional associations, Felicia is actively involved in community relations.  She currently serves as a Council Member for the City of Pearland, Texas.  She has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Pearland Economic Development Corporation, the Adult Reading Center and the YMCA of Greater Houston.

Felicia is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas.  She has been admitted pro hac vice in courts of other states.
