Chuck Hollis is a member of Sutherland’s Outsourcing and Software Systems Acquisition/Implementation Team. He has more than 14 years of experience. His practice focus has three aspects: customer side offshore and onshore outsourcing transactions including business process outsourcing (BPO), information technology outsourcing (ITO), application development and maintenance (AD/M), managed network services (MNS) and human resources outsourcing (HRO) arrangements; software systems acquisition and implementation transactions; and structuring, formation and regulatory compliance of joint ventures in new markets and shared services arrangements.
Chuck has substantial experience in the banking, insurance, consumer products, electronics, utility, energy and online data/analytics industries.
The geographical coverage of his engagements include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, the People’s Republic of China, the Philippines, Spain, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Before joining Sutherland, Chuck was a partner in two international law firms. He was a part of their outsourcing, software systems acquisition/implementation and capital markets/private equity groups.
Chuck is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE Chuck’s extensive representative experience includes:
- Representing a Fortune 1000 online information and analytics provider in the structure and negotiation of a $300 million ITO arrangement with IBM covering Brazil, Canada, Chile, Ireland, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States, with services also provided from India.
- Representing a Fortune 1000 online information and analytics provider in the structure and negotiation of AD/M arrangements with Infosys, TCS and Genpact for the United States, Canada and United Kingdom for more than $100 million of services provided from the local countries and India.
- Representing a Fortune 500 manufacturer and distributor of consumer electronics in the structure and negotiation of a $300 million business process transformation, operations and data center outsourcing arrangement with IBM for the North American customer and retailer contact center, customer management, warranty, entitlement, field service/smart center, parts fulfillment, depot repair/reverse logistics, service contracts, and finance and accounting functions.
- Representing a Fortune 500 manufacturer and distributor of consumer products in a $200 million ITO arrangement with IBM for U.S. operations.
- Representing a multi-national joint venture pharmaceutical company for animal health care in the structure and negotiation of a $30 million business process transformation arrangement with Deloitte Consulting for Brazil, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States including Oracle software systems development, integration, maintenance and training, with services provided from the local countries and India.
- Representing a private-equity-owned payment processor/payment solutions provider in the structure and negotiation of a $50 million call center arrangement for the United States and Europe with services also provided from India and the Philippines.
- Representing a mutual insurance company with the structure and negotiation of various claims processing and administration, pension administration, payroll HRO and call center arrangements, with services also provided from India and the Philippines.
- Representing a Fortune 1000 Internet service provider in a mobile vendor network operator (MVNO) arrangement (joint venture) and shared services arrangement between the U.S. telecommunications (data) services providers and overseas telecommunications (wireless voice) services provider.
- Representing a Fortune 500 credit reporting and analytics services provider in a FMO for North America and Europe.
