Cherie Phears is an associate in Sutherland’s Tax Group.

Before joining the firm, she held a legal internship with the Association of Corporate Counsel where she worked closely with general counsel and associate general counsel at Cox Communications, Bank of America, The Facility Group, and Employment Learning Innovations. Cherie was also a Sutherland Summer Associate working in both Washington, D.C., and Atlanta.

Before attending law school, Cherie taught in the Atlanta Public School System and participated in the Urban Accelerated Certification and Master’s Program at Georgia State University’s Graduate School of Education.
