Chad Mills is Deputy Practice Group Leader for the Energy & Environmental Group and the chair of our Liquefied Natural Gas practice team. He focuses his practice on project development, mergers and acquisitions, energy trading and other commercial transactions in the energy industry. Chad’s extensive experience in the energy sector and superior understanding of the gas, power and oil businesses adds significant value to his clients’ needs in executing energy transactions. His client base includes energy providers, developers, investors and underwriters involved in power plant, LNG, and oil and gas transportation projects.

In the LNG area, he has successfully negotiated long-term LNG purchase agreements, master purchase and sale agreements, and LNG terminal sharing agreements, as well as the purchase of LNG assets and development of onshore and offshore LNG receiving facilities.

In the oil and gas arenas, Chad handles acquisition and divestiture of oil and gas properties, project finance work, joint operating agreements and transportation agreements, among other transactions.

Similarly, Chad’s support of varied clients in the electric power industry has encompassed acquisition and divestiture of power facilities (renewable energy, coal-fired and gas-fired plants), as well as energy market agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and project finance work.
