Celeste Pickron, a member of Sutherland’s Tax Practice Group, has extensive experience in tax planning and controversy work with particular emphasis on partnership, limited liability company, and real estate tax issues. She also has experience structuring ownership of foreign business operations by U.S. multinationals and the U.S. activities of foreign-based multinationals.

In the domestic arena, a substantial portion of her practice consists of providing planning advice on complex structuring transactions, including issues arising from partnership and debt restructuring, allocations with respect to contributed property, basis elections and determinations and disguised sales transactions. For U.S.-based multinationals, she regularly advises on how to structure ownership of foreign operations so as to minimize the overall foreign and U.S. tax burden.

From 1975 to 1980, Celeste was an attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service. She has taught as an adjunct professor at Emory University’s graduate tax program.
