Al Adams, a member of Sutherland’s Real Estate Practice Group, practices primarily in the areas of real estate and creditors’ rights, where he represents foreign and U.S. investors, lenders and developers in connection with virtually every type of real estate project.

Al has worked extensively in the acquisition and development area and on mortgage and joint venture financing of retail and other commercial projects. He has also developed considerable experience in real estate workouts, foreclosures and bankruptcy reorganizations.

Al is an adjunct professor at Duke University School of Law, teaching a course in Real Estate Finance. He has spoken frequently at seminars such as the Georgia Real Property Institute and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Law Conference and at other continuing legal education seminars on topics such as retail development and leasing; real estate workouts and creditors’ rights; commercial real estate sales and acquisitions; partnerships; and joint ventures.
