Adam Cohen, a member of Sutherland’s Tax Practice Group, focuses his practice on employee benefits and executive compensation. He assists a diverse group of clients, including public companies, closely held businesses and tax-exempt organizations, in matters including:
  • Tax-qualified retirement plans.
  • Nonqualified deferred compensation plans.
  • Equity compensation arrangements.
  • Executive employment and separation agreements.
  • Employee benefits due diligence and transaction agreement provisions arising in mergers and acquisitions.
Adam is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, where he currently teaches “Retirement Plan Qualification Requirements.” He previously taught “ERISA: Pensions” as an adjunct professor at Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
