Sutherland Partner Clifford E. Kirsch is chair of the ABCs of Investment Adviser Regulation 2008, hosted by the Practising Law Institute, May 9, 2008, in New York City, and is presenting an overview of adviser regulation.  In addition, Sutherland Partner Michael B. Koffler is presenting on "The Adviser-Client Relationship."  His presentation will cover suitability, custody, investment restrictions and proxy voting.

The program is designed to provide attendees with a solid foundation in the regulatory regime applying to investment advisors.  Attendees will learn about the major changes anticipated in the investment management industry as the Securities and Exchange Commission moves forward with a review of regulations governing investment management companies and investment advisers.  Further, the program will cover how the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and state securities laws interact in governing the advisory industry.
