Stephanie Kinzel-Tapper counsels clients in a broad range of complex energy and business litigation matters including breach of contract, fraud, deceptive trade practices, product liability and breach of fiduciary duty claims. She has litigated claims arising from domestic and international contractual arrangements, including: crude oil trading agreements, data acquisition and use agreements, joint operating agreements, oil and gas leases and partnership and joint venture agreements. Stephanie’s practice involves disputes in various state and federal courts.
Before joining Sutherland, Stephanie was an associate with an international law firm in Houston where she focused on energy and commercial litigation. Stephanie also interned for the Honorable Sara Vance of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Sutherland defends technology company against claims of misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of confidentiality agreements.
Sutherland won a stay for the defendant in a Texas action to allow an earlier action filed in Norway to proceed in the defense of claims brought by a technology company. The case involved the development of multiphase well meters used to measure the flow of oil, gas and water production.
