Shelley Wong, a member of Sutherland’s Energy and Environmental Group, counsels clients on a diverse range of issues that arise from the physical trading of crude oil, petroleum products and renewable fuels. Shelley focuses on regulatory, policy and commercial issues related to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) matters, such as the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) program as well as state low carbon fuel standards. Shelley also advises clients on sanctions and antiboycott issues as well as import/export matters.
Shelley works with clients to mitigate risk and liability arising from the transportation and storage of physical products, particularly, rail and vessel transport. Shelley counsels clients in enforcement proceedings before the EPA and U.S. Customs and Border Protection among other federal agencies. She also provides advice on broader legislation that has an impact on physical product trading, such as the Jones Act.
