Robert Ball advises technology entrepreneurs, emerging growth companies and institutional investors in complex transactions, including capital formation, venture capital and growth equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, public and private offerings, equity incentive arrangements, director and officer obligations and general corporate matters. Robert also represents larger companies, both public and private, in connection with joint ventures, technology licensing arrangements, strategic partnerships and global expansion. He is a seasoned business and legal advisor who brings significant knowledge and hands-on experience in data analytics, internet infrastructure, software-as-a-service, cloud computing, payments, security, e-commerce and social media.
Previously, Robert served as a member of the executive team of Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), a leading provider of cloud services. As Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, he managed Akamai's initial public offering and oversaw all aspects of its corporate legal affairs from early stage to post-IPO. As Vice President, Business Development, Robert managed Akamai’s corporate strategy, strategic partnerships and investments, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and technology licensing. As Vice President, International, he oversaw Akamai's international expansion and rapid growth in Asia and Europe.
Most recently, Robert served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of a private equity-backed predictive analytics and software services provider to the insurance, financial services, healthcare and e-commerce markets, where he managed day-to-day operations, corporate legal affairs, capital raising and business development activities.
