Combining her legal and business experience, including nine years on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) staff, PC Pitts guides clients on regulatory matters involving investment companies, investment advisers and variable insurance products. She counsels clients regarding registration, reporting, disclosure and compliance issues under the federal securities laws as a member of Sutherland’s Financial Services Practice Group. She spent two of her years with the SEC as a member of the general counsel staff, providing advice to the Commissioners on proposed enforcement matters and rulemaking initiatives. PC also worked with the SEC’s Division of Investment Management.
While working in the Chief Counsel's Office of the Division of Investment Management, and later in the Office of Insurance Products, PC prepared no-action letters in response to questions arising under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. During her five years in the Office of Insurance Products, PC attained the position of branch chief. PC is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and of the American Bar Association.
