Meltem practices in the areas of general corporate and securities law, concentrating on derivatives contracts.
A partner within Eversheds Sutherland’s Capital Markets Group, Meltem has worked as a dedicated derivatives lawyer for over 20 years. Whether your entity is a corporation, insurance company, pension plan, university, asset manager, mutual fund, business development company or government-sponsored enterprise, Meltem can advise you across the full spectrum of important issues relevant to derivatives trading. This includes working closely with her clients to develop and structure derivatives transactions to achieve their business and financial goals, as well as negotiating the documentation for derivatives across all asset classes. A significant part of Meltem’s role in helping businesses like yours is drafting trading documentation, including template agreements, which requires a deep understanding of her clients’ individual goals, as well as relevant operational and regulatory requirements.
Meltem also provides legal training to legal and business teams on all areas of derivatives-related laws, including the regulatory requirements imposed on the derivatives markets by the Dodd-Frank Act, as well as European derivatives reform developments, such as European Market Infrastructure Regulation and Markets in Financial Instruments Directive.
In her spare time, Meltem enjoys running, weight lifting, cooking for friends and family and watching her children play baseball.
