Meghan Gruebner counsels clients on investment and trading in commodity derivatives, including compliance with the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, Commodity Exchange Act, and regulations issued thereunder by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). She also represents clients on energy regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Department of Energy (DOE).

Before joining Sutherland, Meghan worked as an energy associate at a Washington, D.C. law firm. She also served as attorney adviser to the Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) at FERC. While there, she supported these judges in an array of electric, oil pipeline and natural gas administrative hearing and settlement proceedings involving issues under the Federal Power Act, Natural Gas Act, and Interstate Commerce Act. Her work included analyzing transmission and market structures of the electric power industry and interstate natural gas and oil pipeline rates and terms and conditions of service.

Meghan is a member of Sutherland’s Derivatives, Oil and Gas Pipeline, Electric, and Electric Reliability practice groups.
