Working with national and international Fortune 100 companies and other large corporations, Maria Todorova helps her clients navigate through complex tax disputes; optimize their state tax burdens through business restructurings; negotiate favorable settlements with state and local tax jurisdictions; and advocate beneficial state tax policy positions. She advises clients on the full spectrum of issues, including franchise and income tax, telecommunications tax, sales and use tax, property tax, combined reporting, state income tax allocation and apportionment, sourcing and taxability, and federal and state constitutional issues. Maria frequently prepares client responses to audits and investigations, and handles all aspects of state and local tax litigation, including defending clients in administrative proceedings and judicial appeals.

She analyzes the tax implications of upcoming legislation and helps clients to plan for maximum tax efficiency, including in complex corporate transactions. Maria is conversant in Italian and Russian and fluent in Bulgarian.
