Leo Kogan advises on a wide range of business and commercial litigation matters impacting the financial services industry. Leo represents clients in securities arbitrations, regulatory actions and employment matters. He also counsels clients in securities fraud and breach of contract disputes, and supports multijurisdiction litigation with activities such as witness preparation and confidentiality assessments.
Leo’s practice also includes conducting internal investigations on behalf of financial institutions, investment advisers, broker-dealers and public companies. Additionally, he manages large-scale e-discovery projects for clients facing regulatory inquiries and other government investigations.
Prior to joining Sutherland, Leo was Senior Director at a leading national investment firm, where he served as litigation in-house counsel. In that role, Leo first chaired arbitrations and handled regulatory investigations and enforcement actions involving suitability and supervision of investment products, breach of contract, employment discrimination and various other issues impacting the securities industry. Leo has a deep understanding of inter-workings of broker-dealers.
Leo is admitted to the New York State Bar Association. He has submitted his application to The State Bar of Georgia. His work is supervised by State Bar of Georgia members.
