Financial services attorney Kally Carreathers counsels hedge funds, corporate, banking, and insurance clients on swaps and derivatives products across all asset classes (including commodities, fixed income, interest rate, foreign exchange, credit and equity derivatives). As the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) adopt their new Dodd-Frank swap regulations, Kally advises clients on the best means to comply with these new rules.
Prior to joining Sutherland, Kally worked with a major investment bank where she documented and negotiated over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives and related financial transactions (including prime brokerage, securities lending, repurchase agreements, and master confirmations). Kally also worked as an associate at a large law firm in Houston. A member of their Corporate Capital Markets team, she advised commercial banks, financial institutions and buy-side corporate borrowers on asset securitizations, structured finance transactions, and derivative products, including workouts and defaults.
Before law school, Kally served in the management consulting division of PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she successfully implemented enterprise-wide information technology solutions for Fortune 50 clients in more than 20 countries and states.
