Jenni Lajzerowicz counsels oil and gas companies, global resources companies, and energy and commodity traders on dispute resolution and transactional matters relating to the extraction and sale of oil and gas, metals and minerals, and natural resources, and their trading and transport.

Jenni is an “excellent litigator” with “in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the natural resources and commodities business” (Legal 500 UK, 2013). She is “forging an impressive reputation in the oil and gas sector” and has “an outstanding background in this area” (Chambers UK, 2013).

Jenni advises on the full range of issues in the oil and gas, international energy and natural resources markets. Her experience includes:

  • Downstream oil and gas sales
  • Agriproducts trading
  • Physicals and futures commodities trading
  • Marketing and offtaking of commodities
  • Biomass and biofuels supply
  • Supply of oil, coal and biomass to power stations and power purchasing agreements
  • Shipping and transport
  • Banking and documentary credit matters
  • Upstream oil and gas disputes

Her clients include traders and producers, national oil and gas companies, ship owners and managers, energy funds, and leading investment and financing banks in various energy and commodity markets.

In upstream oil and gas, Jenni represents companies in disputes arising under joint operating agreements, offshore engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts, production sharing and numerous other related project agreements.

In addition to contentious matters concerning energy and natural resources, Jenni counsels clients on the structuring of specific trade transactions and drafts terms and conditions of sale, specific agreements and charter party forms for the marketing, trading and transport of oil, petroleum products and natural resources. She also advises companies involved in offshore energy on maritime matters, such as offshore support vessels, semi-submersibles and pipeline/cable laying.

Jenni is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, presenting globally on upstream oil and gas, and energy and natural resources trading. Prior to joining Sutherland, she spent a number of years in the London office of a global law firm, where she focused on energy and commodities.
