Graham Green advises multinational clients, primarily insurance companies, banks and regulated investment companies, on the taxation of financial institutions and financial products.
Graham also counsels on tax planning, compliance and transactional matters including mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations and demutualizations.
Prior to joining Sutherland, Graham was a tax attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel in Washington, DC. There, he was the principal author of the proposed and final regulations under IRC section 833(c)(5) applying a medical loss ratio qualification test to Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies.
His previous experience includes serving as an attorney-adviser to Judge Joseph H. Gale of the United States Tax Court and a tax associate at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP.
As an adjunct professor of law, Graham has taught the courses “Tax Practice and Procedure (Litigation)” and “Tax Shelter Litigation Workshop” at Georgetown University Law Center.
