Charlie Hurt works with multigenerational families and their advisers on estate planning matters. The leader of Sutherland’s Atlanta-based Trusts and Estates team, Charlie advises and assists individuals and their families in all areas of their personal, estate and business planning. Charlie represents estates of varying sizes from the initial planning stages to conclusion.
When an individual or estate faces scrutiny or the threat of litigation, Charlie brings 50 years of experience and extensive knowledge of tax regulations to the vigorous defense of his clients. He defends estates before the Internal Revenue Service and also represents clients in fiduciary litigation and construction issues involving wills and trusts. In addition to providing tax-related advice, Charlie advises closely held businesses and family groups in general corporate matters.
