Carlo represents clients in all forms of dry shipping litigation and trading disputes. He has significant experience in all aspects of dispute resolution, focusing predominantly on London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) and Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA) arbitration, as well as High Court proceedings including reported cases.

Carlo's clients include ship owners/managers, tug owners, charterers/traders, P&I Clubs, as well as marine insurers. His experience includes:

  • Charterparties (including speed and performance, demurrage, off hire, withdrawal, safe port and unpaid hire disputes)
  • Bill of Lading claims (including the exercise of liens on freight and cargo)
  • Commodity sale contracts
  • General P&I/defense claims
  • Marine insurance and reinsurance (including jurisdiction and conflict of laws disputes)
  • Offshore/barge/towage contracts

He previously spent six years at a niche marine City of London firm and completed several valuable secondments at leading P&I Clubs.
