Andrew Murray advises clients in transactional matters.

His practice includes all aspects of:

  • Asset finance and project finance (emphasis on shipping and petroleum industry)
  • Trade finance
  • Related security (e.g., charges, guarantees, letters of credit, assignments and pledges)
  • Ship and yacht building, sale/purchase and management contracts
  • Compliance and regulatory issues (e.g., Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MIFID), European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR), bribery laws)
  • Sale and purchase of businesses and assets
  • Investment agreements, shareholders’ agreements, and group reorganizations
  • Agency and royalty arrangements
  • Joint ventures involving the above

Before joining Arbis LLP, he co-founded Bargate Murray, a boutique six-lawyer London firm, in 2006 as Managing Partner. Prior to Bargate Murray, he was a partner at Constant & Constant and led a six-partner team as Department Head, and he also worked at Simmons & Simmons in petroleum and ship finance. Andrew also worked in-house for six years, including at UBS.
