ATLANTA (December 9, 2004) – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan is pleased to announce that M. Scott Holcomb, who practices in the firm's Litigation Group, has been awarded the prestigious Marshall Memorial Fellowship (MMF). Mr. Holcomb, along with the other 2005 American Marshall Memorial Fellows, will spend three weeks of intensive study examining European institutions and exploring European and transatlantic economic, political, and social issues.
The program's goal is to educate the next generation of American leaders on the importance of the transatlantic relationship and to equip them with the knowledge to work with European counterparts on a range of international and domestic issues. Fellows are selected through a competitive review process and come from politics, government, the military, media, business, and the non-profit sector. MMF has been instrumental in developing and maintaining a vital network of leaders on both sides of the Atlantic committed to transatlantic relations.
Mr. Holcomb practices in the areas of securities litigation and enforcement, representing investment companies, investment advisers, broker-dealers, and individuals in a wide range of securities matters with particular emphasis on regulatory enforcement. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Holcomb was a Captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, where he served as a military prosecutor, labor counselor, and international law attorney.
