ATLANTA (September 6, 2005) – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP is proud to welcome new associate Joseph M. DePew to the firm's renowned tax practice in the Atlanta office.
Prior to joining the firm, DePew was a Senior Manager at KPMG, where his practice focused on federal tax controversies and representing clients in Internal Revenue Service examinations, Administrative Appeals, and in high stakes litigation before the United States Tax Court. He served as national coordinator for Notice 2001-45 examinations and was also selected to the Vice Chairman's 50, an intense program geared towards future KPMG leaders.

DePew earned his J.D., with distinction, from Ohio Northern University College of Law in 1998, his LL.M. degree in taxation from University of Florida College of Law in 1999, and his B.A. degrees in public justice and psychology from SUNY Oswego in Oswego, New York in 1995. He has published several articles in Corporate Business Taxation Monthly, a national publication addressing tax issues involved with running a corporate business.
