WASHINGTON (March 10, 2008) – Sutherland is pleased to announce that Catherine M. Krupka has joined the firm as a partner in its Energy and Environmental Practice.
Ms. Krupka advises wholesale and retail electric and natural gas marketers on a variety of state and federal issues related to business transactions, including greenhouse gas (GHG) and other emissions, agency regulation, enforcement and compliance, policy trends and legislative initiatives. She has broad experience with the negotiation and support of energy-related transactions, including energy/asset management and tolling arrangements, transmission and scheduling services agreements and asset purchases. She will reside in the Washington office.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Krupka served as a partner with another Washington, D.C. firm. She is admitted to the State Bar of California and the District of Columbia Bar. Ms. Krupka is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. and Ninth Circuits, and is a member of the Federal Energy Bar.
Catherine received a J.D., cum laude, from Boston University School of Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the International Law Journal. She earned an M.B.A., with honors, and a B.S. from the University of San Francisco.
