ATLANTA and WASHINGTON (May 6, 2009) – At its annual meeting, May 1-2, 2009, the partnership of Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP unanimously re-elected Mark D. Wasserman to serve a second four-year term as Managing Partner of the firm.
Wasserman, a corporate and mergers-and-acquisitions lawyer who joined the firm in 1987, will continue to focus on the firm’s delivery of top-level client service and value, strategic growth, and diversity. In addition, Wasserman remains committed to continuing Sutherland’s long history of pro bono work and community service.
The partnership also unanimously elected four new members to serve on Sutherland’s Executive Committee, the firm’s governing body. Partners Steven B. Boehm, Rachel Giesber Clingman, Eric R. Fenichel, and Peter R. Rodgers will join partners James D. Darrow, Jennifer W. Fletcher, Michael G. Kerman, and Carol A. Weiser on the Executive Committee.
Steven B. Boehm is a member of Sutherland’s Financial Services Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in the corporate and securities area, with an emphasis on matters involving asset management arising under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Rachel Giesber Clingman, Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s Houston office and a member of Sutherland’s Litigation Practice Group, is nationally recognized for her complex energy, transportation and commercial litigation experience.
Eric R. Fenichel, who has served as Co-Practice Group Leader of Sutherland’s Corporate Practice Group and is Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s Atlanta office, focuses his practice in a broad array of financing transactions, including structured finance and securitization, derivatives and structured products, insurance finance, timber finance, commodity financing arrangements, and general corporate finance.
Peter R. Rodgers, who until recently served as the Group Leader of Sutherland’s Energy and Environmental Practice Group, advises energy industry clients about commodity regulatory issues, commercial matters, compliance issues and transactions. His experience extends to the energy policy matters and the regulatory and trade laws that govern the energy business.
