NEW YORK (December 19, 2012) – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP is pleased to announce that New York-based Partner Robert D. Owen has been named to the Georgetown Law Advanced eDiscovery Institute Advisory Board.
Now in its tenth year, Georgetown University Law Center’s annual Advanced eDiscovery Institute has earned the reputation of being the preeminent eDiscovery conference in the United States. As a member of the Advisory Board, Mr. Owen will play an integral role in planning future programs.
Mr. Owen, a member of Sutherland’s Litigation Practice Group, has more than 35 years of experience in New York commercial litigation and is widely recognized for his leadership in eDiscovery. Currently, he is president of the Electronic Discovery Institute (a not-for-profit organization devoted to resolving eDiscovery challenges by conducting studies and teaching), a member of the editorial advisory board of Law Technology News (an American Law Media publication), a member of and regular participant in the The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 (Managing Information and Records in the Electronic Age), and a member of the Educational Advisory Cabinet for the Masters Conference. He is ranked as a Band 1 “leading individual" in Litigation: eDiscovery in both the Chambers Global and the Chambers USA directories.
