NEW YORK (September 25, 2012) – In recognition of his achievements and protracted contribution to the captive industry, Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP Partner P. Bruce Wright is recipient of the 2012 U.S. Captive Outstanding Contribution Award.
Mr. Wright received the award at the US Captive Services Awards 2012 in Fairmont, Chicago. The ceremony is held annually by Captive Review, a monthly publication that focuses on the risk management and captive insurance communities.
“Bruce is well-deserving of this recognition," said William H. Bradley, partner-in-charge of Sutherland’s New York office. “His legal talent is renowned in the captive insurance industry, and he is truly an asset to our insurance team. We congratulate him on this honor."
Mr. Wright counsels multinational clients on a variety of tax and insurance law issues. He forms commercial offshore privately and publicly held entities and develops structured financial products such as securitizations, swaps, options and others used as alternatives to conventional risk financing mechanisms, including “rent-a-captives" and “cell companies."
In addition to today’s award, Mr. Wright ranked No. 9 in Captive Review magazine’s “Power 50" which recognizes the 50 most important figures in the international captive insurance community. He also has been recognized as a distinguished benefactor by the Nevada Captive Insurance Association.
