Sutherland Expands Intellectual Property Practice With the Addition of Three Partners

ATLANTA (August 1, 2000) – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP announced the expansion of its Intellectual Property Practice with the addition of three new partners. Peter G. Pappas, Daniel J. Warren and William L. Warren have joined the firm's Atlanta office and will concentrate in litigation, prosecution, licensing and counseling for patent, trademark and copyright matters and general intellectual property advice. All three partners have diverse technical backgrounds and substantial industry-specific experience.

"Their extensive experience with patent and trademark prosecution, litigation and licensing will be of immediate value to our clients. Pete Pappas has more than 13 years experience in the areas of patent and trademark prosecution and transactional matters. He has particular expertise in the chemical and mechanical fields. He received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and a law degree from the University of Alabama. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Dan Warren litigates in all areas of intellectual property. He has more than 10 years experience with preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications in the mechanical field. He is also experienced in the area of trademark prosecution. He holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and received his J.D. degree from Emory University School of Law. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Bill Warren has more than nine years experience in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceutical and biomedical device patent prosecution. His practice includes patent and trademark prosecution, opinion and licensing matters and intellectual property litigation counseling. Bill received a B.A. degree in Biology and Economics from Middlebury College and his law degree from Emory University. He also holds an M.S. degree in Molecular Genetics from Georgia State University and a M.B.A. degree from Emory University. He is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
