The following attorneys have been elected:
Elisabeth M. Bentzinger is a member of Sutherland’s Insurance Transactions & Products Team. She assists insurance companies and other financial services clients with the design and implementation of a variety of U.S. Securities Exchange Commission (SEC)-registered and unregistered investment products, including variable and fixed annuity and life insurance products. Ms. Bentzinger is located in Sutherland’s Washington, D.C. office.
Sean D. Christy is a member of the firm’s Outsourcing and Software Systems Acquisition/Implementation Team. He counsels on offshore and onshore outsourcing transactions, including business process outsourcing (BPO), information technology outsourcing (ITO), application development and maintenance (AD/M), managed network services (MNS) and human resources outsourcing (HRO) arrangements, and software systems acquisition and implementation transactions. Mr. Christy is located in Sutherland’s Atlanta office.
Juan C. Garcia is a member of Sutherland’s Litigation Team and represents clients in a variety of areas, including business torts, product liability, commercial lease disputes, personal injury defense and general contractual matters. Mr. Garcia also represents regional transit authorities in land acquisitions through condemnation for expansion of light rail transit systems and represents various energy companies in cases involving Jones Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and other maritime claims. Mr. Garcia is located in Sutherland’s Houston office.
James E. Guy is a member of the Energy and Environmental Team. He represents energy companies in a broad range of regulatory matters, including litigation, compliance and enforcement, as well as due diligence and counseling for project development and business transactions. Mr. Guy has served electric utilities, power marketers, retail electric providers, independent power producers and other energy companies, as well as large industrial energy users. Mr. Guy is located in Sutherland’s Austin office.
Jack Massey is a member of Sutherland’s Litigation Team and handles complex civil litigation and investigations. His clients include firms throughout the energy industry—upstream, downstream, trading and services—as well as firms in the chemical, logistics and financial services industries. He has litigated cases throughout the United States, most recently serving on the trial team representing Transocean Offshore Deepwater Drilling, Inc. in the multi-district litigation arising from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill of 2010. Mr. Massey is located in Sutherland’s Houston office.
Mark D. Sherrill is a member of Sutherland’s Energy and Environmental Team, where he counsels banks, energy companies and commodity traders on the interplay of issues related to bankruptcy, energy, derivatives and the Dodd-Frank legislation. Mr. Sherrill is located in Sutherland’s Washington, D.C. office.
