ATLANTA (November 14, 2005) – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP is pleased to announce Eric S. Tresh has joined the Tax Practice Group as a partner. Mr. Tresh, who will work from the firm's Atlanta office, focuses his practice on state and local taxation and tax and business issues related to the communications industry, including Federal and state regulatory matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Tresh was a partner in the State and Local Tax group at KPMG, where he was responsible for state and local tax consulting services to clients throughout the country. Mr. Tresh frequently speaks and writes on state and local tax issues, including those relating to the communications industry. Mr. Tresh is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court and the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He earned his J.D. from University of South Carolina School of Law and his B.A. from State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Also joining the firm from KPMG is Jolie A. Sims. Ms. Sims will be an associate also operating from the firm's Atlanta office. She specializes in matters related to all aspects of the communications industry, including wireless, wireline, and cable and Internet service. Prior to joining the Sutherland, Ms. Sims served as the manager of the State and Local Tax group for KPMG, where she was responsible for managing client relationships and project delivery. She earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law, and received her B.S. from the University of Florida.
