ATLANTA (March 30, 2000) – Brian D. Burgoon, an associate with Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, has been elected to the Board of Governors of the Florida Bar. Burgoon's election to the seat representing the out-of-state members makes him the youngest member of the Board. Burgoon, 28, will serve a two-year term.
"I am grateful to have this opportunity to serve the members of the Florida Bar," Burgoon said. "Ours is a strong organization, and I look forward to working with the other Board members to make it even stronger."
Burgoon has strong ties to the state of Florida, where he grew up and went on to receive both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Florida. Burgoon served as Student Body President at the University of Florida and continues to serve on the University's College of Law Alumni Council. He is a member of the Atlanta and American Bar Associations and is admitted to practice law in Florida and Georgia.
