WASHINGTON (November 9, 2007) – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP is pleased to announce that Valerie A. Jackson will join the firm as Director of Diversity.
Ms. Jackson's primary focus will be managing the firm's continuing development and implementation of firmwide strategic diversity initiatives and programs.

Ms. Jackson will oversee Sutherland's diversity initiatives related to pipeline projects, recruiting and retention. She also will help the firm develop new strategic partnerships with the firm's clients to help increase diversity throughout the profession. Prior to joining Sutherland, Ms. Jackson served as an assistant director for the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board's Office of International Affairs. She graduated from Georgetown University Law Center and she received her A.B. in government, with honors, from Harvard University. She is very involved in the Atlanta and Washington communities, where she works to increase educational and professional opportunities for disadvantaged children and young adults.
