ATLANTA (May 12, 2004) – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP is pleased to announce that David A. Massey was elected to the firm's Executive Committee. Announced at the firm's annual Partners' Meeting that took place April 30 - May 2 in Greensboro, GA, he will serve a three-year term.
"David is a tremendously skilled lawyer with outstanding leadership qualities," said James L. Henderson III, firm wide Managing Partner. "We are excited to have him on the committee as he will contribute greatly to the strategic direction of our firm."
Mr. Massey is a partner in the firm's Washington office, working almost exclusively on mergers and acquisitions in the financial services industry, including purchases and sales of insurance companies and mutual fund complexes. He was also extensively involved in representing the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in its sales of failed banks during the banking crisis of the 1980's and 1990's. Mr. Massey is a graduate of The University of Virginia School of Law.
John H. Fleming, Thomas A. Gick, James L. Henderson, Keith R. McCrea, and Mark D. Wasserman continue to serve on the firm's Executive Committee. Steven B. Boehm of the financial services group in Washington, and Teresa Wynn Roseborough of the litigation group in Atlanta finished serving as of April 2004. Mr. Boehm and Mrs. Roseborough both served a three-year term.
