ATLANTA (April 23, 2002) – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP is pleased to announce that Thomas A. Gick and Mark D. Wasserman have been elected to the firm's Executive Committee. Announced during the firm's annual Partners' Meeting on April 12-14, Gick and Wasserman will each serve a three-year term.
"Tom and Mark offer tremendous leadership qualities and will contribute greatly to the strategic management of our firm," said James L. Henderson III, firmwide Managing Partner.
Tom Gick is a tax partner in the Washington office. His practice focuses on the taxation of insurance companies and their products. Tom represents insurers, other financial service companies and insurance purchasers in connection with life, health and property and casualty insurance tax planning and controversy matters. Prior to joining Sutherland, Tom served as an Appellate Trial Attorney with the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice. Tom received his J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Mark Wasserman is a corporate partner in the Atlanta office with a concentration in the mergers and acquisitions and securities law areas. Mark represents public and private companies in connection with acquisitions and dispositions in the U.S. and abroad. He is also a member of Sutherland's Technology Group and regularly advises both start-up and established companies on capital formation and general business issues. Mark is a graduate of Emory University School of Law.
