ATLANTA and WASHINGTON (May 14, 2012) – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP announces the election of two new partners to the firm’s Executive Committee. Peter G. Pappas and Beverly J. Rudy have joined the firm’s governing body and will serve a four-year term.
The two were elected at the annual partner meeting. They join James M. Cain, Allegra J. Lawrence-Hardy, Rachel Giesber Clingman, Eric R. Fenichel, Victor P. Haley and Michael R. Miles who will continue their service on the Executive Committee.
“Pete and Beverly are outstanding additions to Sutherland’s Executive Committee. These seasoned attorneys have proven business savvy and a commitment to client service that makes them ideal candidates to strategically steer the firm over the next several years," said Sutherland’s Managing Partner Mark D. Wasserman.
Mr. Pappas, a member of Sutherland’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, concentrates his practice primarily in chemical patent prosecution. He also handles mechanical patent prosecution, federal trademark prosecution, licensing and other intellectual property transactions, validity and infringement opinions, and litigation support.
Ms. Rudy, a member of Sutherland’s Energy and Environmental Practice Group and co-head of the energy trading team, has more than 30 years of experience advising oil trading companies. Her practice is focused on commercial, international trade, regulatory and transaction tax matters that affect the global trading of oil, petrochemicals and other energy commodities.
Steven B. Boehm and Peter H. Rodgers have stepped down from the Executive Committee after fulfilling their terms of service.
