NEW YORK (July 23, 2009) – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP announces that Peter Ligh has joined the firm as an associate in its Litigation Practice Group and Energy and Environmental Practice Group, based in the New York office. Mr. Ligh is the second recent addition to Sutherland’s New York office, following Corporate Partner Earl Zimmerman.

Mr. Ligh will focus his practice on complex commercial litigation and arbitration of disputes. He has experience in a broad range of matters, including antitrust, securities, energy, intellectual property and internal investigations.

Prior to joining Sutherland, Mr. Ligh was an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. He also served as an intern for the Honorable Sonia Sotomayor of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and for the Honorable Naomi Reice Buchwald of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Mr. Ligh earned his juris doctor from Columbia Law School in 2001, where he served as Managing Editor of the Columbia Law Review and was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a James Kent Scholar. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from Yale University in 1998.
