WASHINGTON (August 1, 2008) – Seven years after the September 11 attacks, the Department of Defense just yesterday announced its new defense strategy, naming "the long war" against global extremism as its top priority.
Jeff Bialos, a partner at Sutherland who focuses his legal practice in aerospace, defense, homeland security, international and national security matters, is available to discuss this and other national security issues with members of the media.
Mr. Bialos, who also serves as Executive Director of Executive Director of the Program on Transatlantic Security and Industry at Johns Hopkins University, is the author of Ideas for America’s Future: Core Elements of New National Security Strategy (June 2008). He served in senior positions at three U.S. government departments with national security responsibilities – the Departments of Commerce, Defense and State. Most recently he was Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Industrial Affairs.
