ATLANTA (September 1, 2009) – Everybody Wins! USA has recognized Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP as a Top Power Lunch Partner in Atlanta for 2008-2009. Everybody Wins! USA, a nationally recognized literacy and mentoring organization, strives to help low-income elementary students improve their reading skills and develop a love of reading. Through its signature program, Power Lunch, Everybody Wins! brings volunteer mentors into schools for weekly one-on-one, read-aloud sessions, increasing children’s opportunities for academic and real-world success. Sutherland was honored as one of the top two partners in Atlanta based on the number of attorneys and staff members who participate in the Power Lunch program.
“Everybody Wins! is a very well-organized and hugely rewarding program,” said Partner and Pro Bono Chair Judith A. O’Brien. “It is an honor to be recognized by Everybody Wins!”
"Sutherland was one of the first Atlanta law firms to provide reading volunteers for this excellent program," said Sutherland Partner and Everybody Wins! Atlanta Board Member William D. Barwick. "One of the reasons the number of our participants keeps increasing is the sense of personal reward we each receive."
Other law firms recognized by Everybody Wins! USA include White and Case LLP for Top Power Lunch Partner in Washington, D.C., and Holland & Knight for Top Power Lunch Partner in South Florida.
