NEW YORK (June 19, 2013) – Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan LLP is pleased to announce that Michael A. Stosser has joined the firm’s Energy Group in New York.
Mr. Stosser, who has previously worked at Ardour Capital Investments LLC as senior vice president and general counsel, has more than 30 years of experience in the energy sector. He joins the firm as Of Counsel.
His practice encompasses the traditional energy sector, including natural gas, oil and power, as well as renewable and alternative energy and clean tech. Mr. Stosser’s decades of experience extend to project development and finance of renewable and alternative energy and other energy projects, natural gas development and export, representing natural gas companies and electric utilities in state and federal regulatory matters and advising clients on energy legislation.

Prior to joining Sutherland, Mr. Stosser served as Of Counsel at Day Pitney LLP. He also served as co-chair of the energy practice at Heller Eherman, LLP and was founding partner and managing partner of the firm’s Washington, D.C., office. Mr. Stosser is a former assistant general counsel for rulemaking and environmental law at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
A graduate of Southwestern University School of Law with Honors, Mr. Stosser is admitted to practice in New York, California, the District of Columbia and before the U.S. Supreme Court.
