Energy Firms Give Mixed Response to Dodd-Frank Swap Reporting Delay

April 19, 2013

EnergyRisk

On April 9, 2013, just one day before the April 10, 2013, end-user compliance date for swap reporting and record keeping under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s implementing regulations, the CFTC issued a no-action letter providing the end-user community certain relief from the swap-reporting requirements.

Sutherland Attorney Meghan Gruebner was quoted in a recent article in Energy Risk agreeing with the decision, saying that the April 10 deadline would have required a “monumental undertaking” by commercial end-users.
